Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) Annual Meeting and Convention

Date: February 1 - 3, 2007

Location: Hilton in Minneapolis

AAVA CE Credit: 2 hours for Dr. Steve Marsden’s lecture on Saturday, February 3, 2007 (9AM-12PM and 2-5 pm)

Abstract: In recent years, increasing interest has been expressed by the public and veterinarians in the range of new drugs offered by herbal medicine for our most stubborn small animal disorders, but few practitioners explore their potential because of a lack of credible resources and clinical experience. These lectures will review the most recent advances in veterinary herbal medicine as they pertain to the new drugs and their effects, quality control, side effects, drug interactions, and clinical efficacy. Lastly, Chinese medical perspectives on herbal medicine will be explored for the insight they provide into proper herb use and the management of frustrating disorders. Veterinarians will emerge ready to implement herbal medicine into their practices immediately on finishing the course.
