Module One:
1. History of Traditional Chinese Medicine
2. Basic TCM concepts
3. Tongue and pulse diagnosis/ Practical
4. Basic TCM syndrome differentiation and identification of disease patterns:
5. Herbal materia medica, extensive info on 120 commonly used herbs: Part One
6. Introduction of basic herbal formulas and formula combinations: Part One
7. Sources of herbs, formulas, patents.
8. Dosing and administration of herbals.

Module Two:
Our overall emphasis this module is on herbal formulas and improving your diagnostic abilities.
1. Materia medica: Part Two
2. Herbal Formulas: Part Two
3. Diagnostic Tools/ Practical: Part Two

Module Three:
Our overall emphasis this session is on herbal formulas and refining your diagnostic abilities.
1. Materia medica: Part Three
2. Herbal Formulas: Part Three
3. Extended Practical: Part Three

Module Four:
Our overall emphasis this session is on putting it all together - how do you interview the client and then diagnose and treat the case within the context of an office visit?

Sunday sessions, modules 1-3:
Extensive use of patients at Dr. Mitchell’s small animal practice will allow you to refine your TCM interview, examination, and diagnostic skills. Students will develop and critique prospective treatment plans for each case evaluated. On-going cases under treatment will also be evaluated and critiqued by the class.
