A Day In The Bluegrass of Equine Acupuncture

  • Woodford Thoroughbreds located between Frankfort and Versailles, Kentucky (20 minutes from Lexington, KY)

Schedule:

  • Saturday, June 12, 2010

    • 8:30AM – 4:30PM (Lunch will be provided at Woodford Reserve Distillery)

      • Drs. Henneman and Cahill will demonstrate, on a variety of horses, acupuncture diagnosis (including Traditional Chinese Medicine), point selection and location, and needling technique. Interactive discussions will address topics such as: (1) Common ailments affecting the performance horse including the older “pet” weekend warrior, three day eventers, dressage, hunter/jumpers, endurance, and race horses. (2) Reproductive problems of both mares and stallions including hormonal imbalances, urine pooling, retained testicles, and impotence. (3) Common injuries of the neck, back, and nervous system (muscle atrophy, EPM, Herpes). (4) Laryngeal problems in both yearlings and older horses. (5) The incorporation of other modalities i.e. Chiropractic, Massage, Laser, Physical Therapy, and Herbal Medicine to augment your acupuncture treatment. Emphasis will be on case histories and expected results.

    This hotel does not provide shuttle service.

    • Non-AAVA Member $225.00
  • All attendees must be licensed veterinarians and have completed an AAVA recognized veterinary acupuncture certification course.

  • Refund Policy: Cancellations received by May 12, 2010, will receive full refund. A $50.00 processing fee will be applied to any cancellation received after May 12, 2010. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after June 4, 2010.
