Hints to better keyword search results:
1) Searching for specific practice type in a specific location:
eg. search for: 'new york' TYPEofWORK_Code=~sa to find small animal vets in New York
AV=avian animal practice
Edu=educational
EQ=equine animal practice
EX=exotic animal practice
FA=farm animal practice
MX=mixed animal practice
SA=small animal practice
WL=wildlife
2) For exact phrases such as full names or states with more than one word, surround the name with an apostrophe. Eg. 'New Mexico'. This will eliminate results with similar words like New York, New Hampshire, Newman, etc.
3) Use the complete spelling of a state instead of the postal abbreviation for the state to narrow a search or use WORK_STATE=ny to find someone in New York state.
4) If you want to find a veterinarian in a region rather than a specific city, try using all the area codes (See 5 below) of the region or all the zip codes for the region you are interested in.
5) If you use telephone area codes to search, place a "-" after the last number of the area code so that the search narrows to phone numbers and not other similar three number combinations.
6) To search for the name O'hara or O'Reily, use the keyword hara or reily instead because the " ' " (apostrophy) is used as a code (see # 2).
7) If you search the character "*", you can bring up the list of the entire membership listed alphabetically by last name.
