FAAVA Certification

The certification process involves completion of two phases a formal application and the examination. The application includes:  curriculum vitae; a synopsis of clinical practice; peer evaluation forms; documentation of a minimum of 50 hours of AAVA approved acupuncture/TCM continuing education; and submission and acceptance of two acupuncture clinical case reports. The second step is the examination process. The exam currently consists of two three hours section, with 150 multiple choice questions per session.

The Academy wishes members to consider AAVA certification in order to advance individual member’s personal professional development and education; to achieve advanced recognition as a veterinary acupuncturist; and to help be an active part of a potential future AAVA application to the AVMA-ABVS for an AVMA College of Veterinary Acupuncture.

To apply for the FAAVA Examination you can either submit the relevant documents via e-mail correspondence to: office@aava.org or you can send them via US mail to: AAVA, PO Box 803, Fayetteville, TN 37334.
